What is the difference between a 2 story and a 1.5 story house in real estate?

My parents just put their house on the market, and the real estate agent has listed it as a 1.5 story house. It has 4 bedrooms and a full bathroom upstairs though. Why isn’t it considered a 2 story house instead?
They live in Missouri so no hurricane damage. There IS a bathroom upstairs, and the ceilings are 10 feet high. It is a 70 year-old, remodeled house. Maybe the real estate agent is just a bitch.
